Through I am Legend, Kim Jung Eun success to make her long dream come true.
In 1990, a tall girl Kim Jung Eun put an earphone to her ear , made her head looked big. The powerful rhythm from the earphone was different from the usual music. It was a high-pitched singer’s voice with harmony of guitar, drum and base.
Her heart was also beat and at that time she started to dream about heavy metal music.
Until high school, Kim Jung Eun’s dream was to be a singer. She listened to hard rock music and enlarged her dream to form a musical band. After a lot of practice, she able to perform couples of hard rock songs.
But the real life pushed her far from music. After she started to manage her life with a successful acting career, the dream to become a singer went far away.
She learned to play handball for her movie Forever the Moment and learned cooking for movie Le Grand Chef, and those experience didn’t attract her.
But, a musical band is something else. It was her childhood dream.
So can you imagine when she was offered to star in I am Legend ? It was a dream come true and she directly picked up the guitar player role of the band.
A staff in I am Legend production team said that Kim Jung Eun showed great enthusiasm even before the first shoot. She stayed awake whole night to practice. She sometimes made nose-bleeds from those hard practice.
But heaven loves her, in the first shoot, Kim Jung Eun already was a real band vocal. And as the time passed by, her character became not clear, is she an actress or is she a musician ?
She overcame all difficulties during I am Legend’s filming, mostly because of the timing of submitting script. Almost of the time, the script was given to her in the same day of shooting.
What she said about that ? She said ‘ To say frankly, it was very difficult to concentrate to perform my character. But, I was the main character, I should not express my anger and temper. Through 13 years acting experience, I know that if the main character frustrated, the whole drama could be messed up‘.
The hard schedule made her sleep once every three days of working. But through this drama she succeeded to plant her name again
She left comments at last episode “ I should express thanks to all members who made me realize my dream from my childhood. I live for music which is everything to me. I succeeded to flower my seed of enthusiasm”
She is great, isn’t she ?
