Can't look: Carly Cole puts her head in her hand as she watches husband Joe get sent off during his debut game for Liverpool

It was going to be a big day for the Cole family.

Joe was making his debut for Liverpool at Anfield against Arsenal and devoted wife Carly would be watching him from the stands as he came out on the pitch in his red shirt for the first time.

But unfortunately, Joe didn't get off to the best start for his new club after he was shown a red card just before the half-time whistle.

Carly, 26, looked on in despair from an executive box in the football stadium as Joe, 28, was given his marching orders after a reckless challenge on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscieln.

Joe was said to be left 'devastated' after the sending off and was inconsolable in the dressing room at half-time.

But Carly's attentions soon turned to her baby daughter Ruby, who she had brought along with her on the day out at Anfield.

And she had plenty of helping hands as her friends took it in turns to hold and play with the five-month-old little girl.

Carly certainly came prepared as she was snapped arriving at the football ground laden down with bags and toys.

She and a friend were seen getting loads of stuff out of the back of her car before they loaded up the designer pram with everything.

They then made their way into the stadium to get settled in before kick-off.

Carly and Joe have been settling into life in Liverpool after he joined the Merseyside club on a free transfer from Chelsea in July.

The family are staying in a £800-a-night suite at the Hilton Hotel while they wait to move into a £2.6m five-bedroom home in Formby.

And they are just minutes away from Liverpool teammate and captain Steven Gerrard and his wife Alex Curran.

Joe, Carly and Ruby arrived in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago to check out properties ahead of the start of the Premiership season next month.

Following Cole's transfer from Chelsea to Liverpool, he has since been busy in training with his new teammates, while Carly has been hitting the shops for interiors for their new home.
