Cover girl: Claudia Schiffer adopts the much-imitated pose that Demi Moore made famous in 1991 when she posed nude at seven months pregnant

She will be 40 this year but Claudia Schiffer looks more radiant than ever as she posed nude to show off her growing baby bump on the cover of Vogue.

The supermodel, who is due to give birth to her third child later this month, looked toned and confident in a shoot by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld for the German edition of the magazine.

Miss Schiffer adopts the much-imitated pose that Demi Moore made famous in 1991 when she too posed nude at seven months pregnant for Vanity Fair.
But the image is no less stunning for its lack of originality.

It has seemingly become a rite of passage for pregnant celebs, with stars such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Lisa Marie Presley all 'doing a Demi'.

Yesterday, even Big Brother wannabe Chanelle Hayes, had a go at recreating the pose.

But Schiffer stands head and shoulders above the rest. She has already revealed she is expecting a little girl with husband, director Matthew Vaughn, in May.

The couple are already parents to Caspar, seven, and Clementine, five.

Miss Schiffer said she was looking forward to the birth but admitted they had yet to come up with a name for the baby.

‘I feel more prepared [this time]. I know exactly what's coming with the birth, more or less and I'm super excited,’ she commented.

‘We haven’t come up with a name. We always leave it till the last minute. We're terrible. The first two were still in hospital and we didn't know their names.’

The model has credited becoming a wife and motherhood for changing her perspective on life.

In a recent interview, she said: ‘I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends and I never took one second off.

‘When I met my husband I said, "You know what, this is important. I'm not going to work weekends any more" - and when I had kids, I became even more careful.’

Miss Schiffer married Vaughan, whose film credits include Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Stardust and Layer Cake, in 2002.

She put her career on hold to begin a family and decided to have her first two children in quick succession.

‘I love being pregnant,' she has said. ‘You can do whatever you want.

'You don't feel guilty, because I used to feel guilty about having a day off.

‘Something really strange happened to me. Before my pregnancies, I was someone who had to watch their weight.

'I had a personal trainer, I was working out, I would never eat anything sweet.

‘I got pregnant and when I was breastfeeding it just came off. I can eat whatever I want. If I don't eat enough, I will lose weight.’
